What You’ll Need.

  • An Internet connection.
  • Portable storage device.
  • Crashplan

Step 1: Download & Install Crashplan.

Simply navigate to the Crashplan Download page and follow the on screen instructions.


Once the download has completed, you’ll need to sign up for a free account with Crashplan.


Step 2: Insert USB Storage Device & Start Backing Up.

Once you have signed up for your Crashplan account and plugged your external storage device into your PC, you’ll be able to navigate to Destinations>Folders and select the appropriate drive (E: in our case). From here you’ll double-click on the drive and click ‘Start Backup’.


Step 3: Let The Backup Complete.

So now that your backups have successfully started, it’s time to play the waiting game. Depending on how much data you’re backing up and the speed of your storage device, it can take anywhere from 15 minutes to a few hours to complete this phase.

And that’s it! You have successfully backed up your data. 

Now you can eject your external storage device, but make sure to keep it somewhere safe!
